Hand out thirty closed-back caps on a Monday, and by Friday you'll know who got the wrong size. They're the ones not wearing it. That's the deal with custom fitted hats: there's no strap in the back, so the size you order is the size they live with. Get the ranges right, though, and these are some of the cleanest-looking caps we put a logo on. Every cap here takes embroidery, and you can order one or a few hundred.

What Sizes Do Custom Fitted Hats Come In?

We get asked if "fitted" means collecting hat sizes like 7 1/8 from everybody. Not on this page. All 25 caps here are sold in size ranges or as One Size:

  • S/M and L/XL: 17 of the 25 styles, including the Flexfit 6297F Pro-Baseball Cap, the Flexfit 6477 Wool-Blend, both Richardson caps and the Adidas AH609.
  • S/M, L/XL plus XL/2XL: the Flexfit 6277 Cotton Blend Cap
  • Four ranges, M/L included: both Under Armour caps, the 1376702 Team Blitzing and the 1330607
  • One Size only: the Flexfit 6577CD, the 6311 Melange Trucker and the 6277Y youth cap
  • The Flexfit 6511 Trucker lists S/M, L/XL and One Size.

The gap: the Flexfit 6350 Heatherlight Melange is listed in S/M only. A bigger head has nowhere to go in that one.

Honestly, on an adjustable cap the strap hides a lot of bad guesses. Here nothing hides them. No strap, no fix. So collect a range from each person before the order goes in, not a guess from whoever is filling out the form. Sizing a cap order is a bit like ordering work gloves for a crew. One size never covers everybody, and the people it misses don't complain, they just leave them in the truck.

Looking for custom fitted hats for men? None of the 25 listings here is labeled men's or women's. The split is by range, plus one youth cap. So a mixed crew orders the same cap, just in different ranges. Worth one extra column on the sign-up sheet.

Picking a Cap: Custom Fitted Baseball Hats, Truckers and Summer Styles

To design a fitted hat people actually wear, pick the cap before you touch the logo. Flexfit makes 20 of the 25 caps here, so most of the choosing happens inside one brand. Here's how we'd sort them, going only by what each listing says.

For the classic look, custom fitted baseball hats usually start with the 6297F: six panels, a structured crown and a high profile. (Structured means stiff front panels. High profile means a taller front.) It's 63/34/3 polyester/cotton/PU spandex with a flatbill (a straight, unbent brim) and a silver undervisor (the underside of the brim). Want a flat bill in a different blend? The Flexfit 6210FF Flat Bill Cap is 83/15/2 acrylic/wool/PU spandex, and its White is 98/2 acrylic/PU spandex. The everyday one is the 6277, a 63/34/3 polyester/cotton/PU spandex twill with 28 colors listed, camo patterns included (the listing notes some camo patterns differ in material).

Want mesh in the back? The Richardson 110 pairs a cotton/poly twill front with an R-Flex stretch mesh back. The Flexfit 6511 and 5511UP are trucker styles too.

For summer work, look at the listings that mention moisture-management (fabric made to move sweat off the skin): the Flexfit 6580 Pro-Formance, the 6597 Cool & Dry Sport Cap in honeycomb-weave polyester, the 6577CD piqué and the ATB101.

The 6100NU lists Cool & Dry technology, and the Adidas AH609 lists CLIMACOOL. The Flexfit 180 lists water-repellent technology and the 6533 Ultrafiber lists water and wind resistance. Those are the listings' words, not ours, and no listing here says waterproof. Stitching also puts needle holes in the front, so we won't promise the logo spot sheds water like the rest of the cap.

Kids' league? The Flexfit 6277Y is the youth version, One Size, in Black, Navy and Red.

How Do Embroidered Fitted Hats Get Decorated?

Thread is our pick on all 25 of these. Each listing here is set up for logo embroidery, and on the solid-back styles the closed back gives you a clean rear panel for a number, initials or a short word. Mesh-back truckers don't, so keep those to the front and sides. Front, side and back are the usual spots.

Your logo gets digitized first, which means we turn it into a stitch file the machine follows, and cap files run from the center out. Flat embroidery, the standard stitched logo that sits flat, works on all of them. 3D puff (foam under the stitches, so the logo stands up) looks best on a structured front like the 6297F or the Richardson 110. Fine detail that thread can't hold? A sew-on patch is the other route. More on how we do it on our cap and garment embroidery page.

Cap-frame note: a few caps already carry a brand mark on the side. The Flexfit 5577UP has a YP four-bar logo on the wearer's right, the Flexfit 6100NU carries the same YP four-bar mark there, and the Flexfit 280 has a black Delta logo on its right side. Planning a side mark on any of them? Put yours on the left.

Price comes down to stitch count (how many stitches are in your design), logo size, how many spots you fill, the cap you pick and the quantity. One cap is fine, there's no minimum. Send us the head count for each range, the cap style and your logo through our quote form, and we'll price it range by range.

First comes the mockup (our drawing of how the logo will sit on your cap), 2–3 working days after we have your file. Once it's approved, a smaller order runs 7–10 working days in production. Big rollout? Ask us for the date before you promise one to anybody. Our Artwork Acceptance Policy covers the logo files we work from.
