Pick the place before you pick the polo. Where will the shirt spend most of its day? A golf course in July, a front desk under cold office air, a school gym on game night? Answer that one first, and our 360 custom polo shirts shrink to a short list fast. Then the logo plan follows, because some of these shirts already carry a maker's mark in a spot you might want.
Custom Golf Shirts: What You Get With a Retail Brand
Golf committees often ask us for "something from the pro shop." We carry plenty: 42 Adidas styles, 22 from Puma Golf and 11 from Under Armour, plus smaller runs from Fairway & Greene, HUK and vineyard vines. If the brand on the tag is part of the prize, start with these.
Sun is the other thing a course polo has to handle. UPF is a fabric's sun-blocking number, and 177 of the 360 listings print one, anywhere from UPF 15 up to 50+. If your tournament tees off at noon, read that line before the color chart.
A few we'd look at first:
- The Puma Golf 596799 Icon Golf Polo: 4.9 oz polyester with four-way stretch, S to 3XL.
- Fairway & Greene F31534, a 94/6 polyester/spandex tech polo listed as made in the USA, UPF 50+, sizes S to 5XL. Three colors only.
- HUK H120558 Pursuit, UPF 50+ too
Here's what you trade for the famous name: you share the shirt with it. More on that in the logo section below, so read it before you lock one in.
Which Polo Looks Right Behind a Desk or a Counter?
For an office, a bank lobby or a reception desk, people usually say they want "a nice cotton one." Fair. Cotton piqué (a knit with a fine, raised, honeycomb-like texture) looks a step more formal than a slick sport knit.
The Devon & Jones D100 is 6.8 oz, 100% Peruvian Pima cotton, in sizes XS to 6XL. The women's D100W has its own feminine fit and a Y-collar, in 15 colors. The Harriton M200 is 5.9 oz ring spun cotton piqué with horn-style buttons, also XS to 6XL.
Shirts that go home in a gym bag and come out wrinkled? The Harriton M265 is a 65/35 polyester/cotton piqué listed as wrinkle-resistant with reduced shrinkage, and its listing says it was tested to 50 industrial washes. Twelve colors.
Fit range is wide too: 57 listings name a women's cut in the title, and three carry "Tall" there (AllPro 41800T, AllPro 62800T and Team 365 TT51T).
Restaurants and hotel desks have a different enemy. Spills. The AllPro 62800 is a 6 oz 65/35 polyester/cotton piqué listed as soil releasing and wrinkle-resistant, in 32 colors and men's sizes XS to 6XL. Its youth version, the 62800Y, turns up again in the school section below.
Polo Shirts With Logos for Schools, Leagues and Clubs
Ten listings here put "Youth" right in the name, so the kids don't have to swim in an adult small.
Spirit colors matter most for this crowd. The AllPro 41800Y comes in 15 colors, youth XS to XL, and every one of those 15 is also on the 27-color list of the men's AllPro 41800. Coaches, parents and players in the same maroon. Done.
Two others for school orders. The CORE365 CE108Y is a 4 oz recycled polyester piqué with UPF 50+, good for outdoor field days. The AllPro 62800Y is heavier, 6 oz poly/cotton piqué, listed as wrinkle-resistant and soil releasing.
Running a Crew? Start on a Different Page
Techs, warehouse staff and field crews need a work knit built for that kind of wear, not a course polo. 25 of the polos here are filed under work polo shirts as well, sorted for that kind of day. Go there first.
Embroidered Polo Shirts: Four Spots, and Some Are Taken
On the listings we checked, the order form lists four places for a logo: left chest, right chest, left sleeve and right sleeve. Each spot allows up to 5 inches, as logo embroidery, text embroidery or a print. The listing text, though, approves only the left and right chest. Want a sleeve logo as well? Ask us first, before the order goes in, and we'll look at that exact style. So the chest it is. Easy enough. Until the maker got there first.
| Polo | Maker's mark, per the listing | Where your main logo can go |
|---|---|---|
| vineyard vines G011145 | Whale, embroidered on the left chest | Right chest, after we check the brand's Distributor Guidelines with you |
| Under Armour 1370399 | Heat-seal logo on the right chest | Left chest |
| Puma Golf 596799 | Silicone Puma Cat logo on the left sleeve | Left or right chest |
| Adidas A230 | Heat-transfer logo on the right sleeve | Left or right chest |
Adidas is the brand to watch. 41 of its 42 listings name a maker's logo already on the shirt: 29 on a sleeve, 9 on the right hip, 2 at the back neck and one, the A2024, on the left chest. The 42nd, the A719, has sublimated 3-stripes on its right sleeve (sublimation dyes the design into the polyester itself). And every vineyard vines listing carries a note to follow the brand's Distributor Guidelines, so ask us about placement before you settle on one.
On a polo with an open left chest, we'd stitch there. Flat embroidery (a standard stitched logo that lies flat) at roughly 3–4 inches across on that spot is the look people expect. Digitizing comes first: our digitizer turns the logo artwork into an embroidery file, with stitch type, direction and density picked for that fabric.
The honest exception is the light stuff. The A230 is 3.8 oz recycled polyester, and its listing names heat transfer (a design pressed on with heat, one of our print options) as the preferred method for that lightweight fabric. So on that one we'd print it.
Thin-knit tip: light, stretchy performance knits need the right backing (extra material under the logo area that the stitches lock into) or they pucker. Puckering means the fabric bunches up into creases around the stitched edge. Digitizing sets the stitch density per fabric too, so your logo on a light sport knit may run from a different file than on a heavy cotton piqué. That's normal.
Custom Polo Shirts by Sleeve, and How Ordering Works
Most of the range is short sleeve: 332 of the 360 sit in short sleeve polo shirts. For covered arms there are 27 long sleeve polo shirts, and if your people carry pens or a badge, the 13 pocket polo shirts sit in their own section.
Need just one custom polo shirt with logo, say a sample for the club captain? We'll make it: 1 piece is our MOQ, the minimum order quantity, and it's the same on every style in this section. Two samples, a Puma and a Fairway & Greene, can settle the debate before the foursome list goes in. Different sizes and colors can ride on the same order, too.
Give us two to three working days from your art for the mockup, which shows the polo in the color you chose, logo already sitting in its spot. Your yes on that picture is day one of production, and a smaller polo order then takes 7–10 working days. Shirts for a whole tournament field, or every branch office? Get our timeline first, because we date big jobs one at a time.
Four things set the price: the polo itself, its logo's stitch count (a tally of all the stitches your logo needs; ink colors instead, if printed), the number of spots you fill, and how many polos are on the list. Before any logo goes to the machine, it has to meet our Artwork Acceptance Policy. Picking one of the light performance knits? Give our Spoilage Policy a read as well.
Tell us the setting in one line (course, counter or classroom), name a style or two, and upload the logo file with our quote form. We'll mark which spots are still free on that shirt. For how the stitching itself gets done, see our embroidery service page. Jackets, caps and everything else we decorate are under custom apparel.
